Poznań International Airport

The location of Poznan-Ławica Airport is very favourable. It is situated 6 km from the city centre, near the main road coming to the most important points of the city: the centre, the International Poznań Fair or the Main Train Station.

Air travel to Poznań

There are six carriers present at Poznań-Ławica Airport.:

From the Airport to the Conference Center:

We recommend to take a taxi.
Only the company 9191 is allowed to wait for passengers in front of the airport. (The taxi should have a 9191 number displayed clearly on the roof and on side doors). A trip (about 6 km) to the Fair entrance should cost about 20 PLN (€4.80) during the weekdays, or about 23-25 PLN (€5.50-6.00) in the night and on Sunday.

From the airport to the hotels:

The taxi fares (9191 company) to the hotels IKAR, LECH, NOVOTEL CENTRUM and MERCURE should be of order of 20-30 PLN in daytime Mo.-Sat. and 30-40 PLN on Sunday and after 10PM.

By train

There are some IC/EC trains to/from Warsaw (2h40m journey, every hour) and Berlin (3h journey) and EN (EuroNight) train to Cologne and Brussels. You can check the current timetable of Polish Railways or German Railways. The main Railway Station in Poznań is situated just in front of the entrance to the International Fair Grounds where the Conference Center is located. (taxi)

By car

You can get to Poznań by motorway A2. It is about 250 km to/from Berlin and 310 km to/from Warsaw. However, on the 100 km section on the way to Berlin a it is a normal road and can be quite busy. Driving from Warsaw is much slower and less comfortable than going by train.

Paid Parking Zone
You have to pay to park a car in the centre of Poznań on Mondays - Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The streets where the Zone is in force are marked with information boards. You have to pay in advance. The fee depends on the sub-zone (red, yellow, green). The red sub-zone is the most expensive, the green one is the cheapest. You should purchase a parking ticket in one of parking automats that you can find in the Paid Parking Zone and leave it in a visible place in the car. The parking machine (pol. automat parkingowy) does not give a change. The explanations are in Polish, English and German.

Entering Poznań International Fairgrounds
The fairgrounds may be entered from Śniadeckich Street. You have to explain the purpose of visit to the fairground at the entrance. You can park your car just in front of Conference Center (Building #15) for free.

From the hotels to the Conference Center

If you walk or come by tram (see the hotel descriptions):
Enter the Fairground by the entrance just opposite to the West entrance (Wejście Zachodnie) to the main railway station.

Remember that taxi car has to go around, so the distance will be longer than given in the hotel descriptions. The fare should be about 6-7 PLN (Hotels Mercure, Lech, Novotel Centrum) or 8-9 PLN (hotel Ikar).
